baby must haves: what we actually used

this one is going to be a long one, so get ready. as with any baby-related post/advice/stories, all babies are completely different. this is just what worked for us. [and make no mistake, i’m assuming most if not all of this will be rendered useless with a potential second child, that will likely have completely opposite tastes from logan]. i realize there are dupes between our two lists; trust me, that’s how important these items were to us. MUST. HAVES.

FROM JOEY:
Dockatot (YUP YUP YUP worth EVERY penny)

This drying rack and all the little dealios that go with it

Some sort of floor mat with a mobile – THIS is the one we have

Boppy // Boppy Lounger (on mat leave I would have been fine having two Boppy’s – one for bedroom and one for living room. Now I’m good with just one since I don’t nurse her as often when I’m at home)

THIS high chair (works well for us because we leave it set up on a dining room table chair … one less extra piece of furniture for the next year +)

FROM ME:

Dockatot – for real, the best money I had spent. She still sleeps in it right now, plus the cover is washable (we have washed it many, many, many times)

All of the Graco Click Connect stroller/carseat/carseat base combos, specifically THIS stroller (we also have THIS one). TBH I really thought I wanted one of the more expensive, snazzier looking ones, but these are legit and look nice when you’re out and about with them. My only gripe is that there isn’t a ton of room underneath, so if you were doing a Target run, you’d probably need a cart (remind me to show you how to fit the car seat in the top of the basket so you have the rest of the cart free … trick I learned from other Target shoppers J)

Boppy – I’m going to agree with this one, except for the fact that I have a really long torso so I kind of have to hunch over to feed Logan. Still an item we use multiple times a day, but I might research other options for any future bebes
Cloud Island Bedding + Clothing – mostly because it’s cute and made with the good kind of material for babies. Plus when they went to go produce the CI line, they got feedback that they wanted gender neutral but not just ‘green and yellow’, so it’s pretty cute all the way around!

WubbaNubs – we currently have four on rotation, still. we would have five, but logan chucked one while on our walk through the neighborhood last night

Halo Sleepsacks – you will get sent home from the hospital with one, but I’d have at least four on hand. We tried THESE, but Logan was way too good at getting her hands out, little Houdini.

A million of these – plus they are so pretty. And jam pack down into diaper bags too!

i’m planning on doing a series of these – what we used the first few months, first year, etc. let me know if you find them valuable!
