work to wedding guest

happy friday! we made it! [sometimes i feel a little disingenuous saying that, because i love my job so it’s not like i’m slaving away over here, but ya know]

i’m here today with a look that i would wear a few different places, but especially as a wedding guest. i wore it to work the day maria and i shot this look [a little #extra, but whatevs], and got told it looks like something someone would wear to a wedding, so looks like it works for both purposes. i dressed it down a little at work with a leather jacket, which would actually work for a wedding, too, now that i think about it. clearly this look is versatile!

i actually looked at this skirt multiple times before i bought it, and i’m so glad i did. this style of skirt is flattering on all body types, since it isn’t overly tight anywhere, but it’s not flowy, cinderella-ball-gown like either. it’s just kinda perfect, ya know?

ok, bad news is that it’s sold out. in all honesty, i’m not going to be the kind of blogger to buy things just to shoot them [although if you ask my husband he thinks i buy clothes ALL THE TIME], but what i will do in these situations is provide you styles very similar, that i myself would wear. so, speaking of things i would wear, let’s touch on this leather jacket for a second. i typically am pretty pragmatic about what i’m buying, and while quality is important to me, that’s balanced with price, but my splurge item is a leather jacket. i found this one at a nearby coach outlet while out ‘hunting’ with my mom. it is one of those pieces that makes you feel like a million bucks, and it goes with everything. i have worn it with a white tee and jeans, and i will dress it up with a nicer outfit as well. much recommend.

i’ve linked a few skirt + leather jacket options for you below. as always, feel free to comment/ask questions here or on the ‘gram!

happy weekending!
