#lifehacks

happy friday! my sincerest thanks for being here and reading this post, or spending any time at all on the blog. i am truly humbled that you spend time here, and am very grateful for you!

so i wouldn’t call it a rut, but i hit a point this week where my creative juices [btw, hate the word juices] weren’t flowing at a normal level. i did say a little prayer about it, and what do you know i found a ton of little nuggets and tid-bits of info throughout the next few days that i have been aggregating to share with you! for real, it’s like a door opened and suddenly i was finding inspo everywhere. power of prayer, y’all [my sister in law is from alabama, so i feel fully justified in saying y’all]. anyways, i’m coming to you today with some of the most RANDOM yet USEFUL info i have quite possibly ever found.

#lifehack 1: how to look more svelte in a denim jacket | when i read this article headline, i thought for sure it was clickbait, but alas, purewow came through yet again with extremely useful info i will actually use. the gist? when wearing a denim jacket [oversized especially], push your sleeves up [forearms are usually one of the most slender parts of our body] and tuck in your shirt to create a waist. i am not wearing a denim jacket in the pictures above, but anytime you can tuck something in and create a waistline, do it. it’s extremely flattering. read the article here for more info.

#lifehack 2: one is for the nursing mamas! | one of the WORST tasks in the world is washing your pump parts. there are few things most people can agree on, but i think nearly everyone can agree that it sucks. according to this article [purewow again!], it’s not an every-time occurrence if you follow these rules to keep everything sterile. as long as you put the parts in a plastic bag, in the fridge, you can prolong the wash cycle of those parts. i get it, it sounds gross, but i’m willing to bet there are some medela moms out there throwing out praise hands emoji on this one. obvi, keep it clean, peeps. wash that guy as often as you can, but for those of you that pumped multiple times per day, like me, especially at work, this might be the timesaver of all timesavers. note: this one is disputed by some experts, but i’m gonna be honest — i’m totally going to try it next time around.

lifehack #3: save money on your flights | who doesn’t want this?! [besides kanye – kanye does not need to save money on flights]. turns out, if you book your flight to a neighboring airport, you could save up to half on your flight! the example used in this article is flying into fort lauderdale vs. miami, but depending on your destination, you could be flexible with how and where you travel. i’m all about this, since i really enjoy traveling but hate spending an arm and a leg on a flight. i’ll be using this for all of my upcoming vacations + travels FOR SURE.

in addition to my obsession with peoples’ routines, i’m a sucker for #hacks, so send me anything cool, random, and #hack-y and i’ll be sure to include it the next time i do a roundup!
