transitional season pieces – dress edition

heyoooo happy monday friends! hope everyone had a good weekend. things were pretty low-key over here, and if you saw my instagram stories, you saw that i was able to clean the entire house for the first time in a looonnng time. as much as a tiny house sounds good in that moment, if you follow me on pinterest, you can tell i’m not much for minimalism #givemeallthegold.

it’s almost august, and that’s the time of summer when i’m starting to look forward to fall [i know, fellow minnesotans and upper mid-westerners, don’t hate on me! we are finally enjoying some amazing weather, i just really like fall, ya know?]. when it gets to be that time, i always start struggling with what to wear. it’s hot, but i work in an office so by nature it’s cold, and it’s still green and sunny, but i want to wear something that lends itself to crunching leaves. open or close toed shoes? long sleeves? short sleeves? no sleeves? for real, what to do?! i typically recommend dresses for a number of reasons. number one, no pants. no pants are the best pants. number two – you always look dressed up enough without looking overdone. number three … it’s easy. dresses are one piece, but look like so much more work went into them. this button up dress from who what wear is that perfect transition piece [i swear i’m not sponsored, guys, i just really love their line at target]. i have it paired with open toed shoes, but it will transition with flats or booties into the fall. the sleeves give me the option to wear them pushed up or down, so i’m able to transition this dress from summer into fall so easily. it’s long enough that it’s perfect for work, but with the side slits it gets a little fun and can be taken from work to play pretty easily. i’ve also rounded up a few other really good who what wear dresses that would transition well from end of summer to fall.

i struggle with trying to figure out what to wear this time of year, so i’ve put some thought into it and will have some more options to share with you later this week. as always, thanks for taking the time to stop by!
