when it comes to leggings, i’ve tried them all. lululemon, zella, c9, joylab, forever 21, gap, old navy, fabletics, etc. i have a few top favorite brands, but one takes the cake. athleta leggings are, in my opinion, truly the best. i feel justified in saying that for a few reasons – i wear them for workouts, for running errands, for work [with office-appropriate tops, of course] and throughout my pregnancy. i am short, so for me, the 7/8 length is perfect for a “normal” length, whereas the regular length would be perfect for my longer-legged friends [so, basically everyone]. the fabric is light enough that i don’t feel like i’m wearing real pants, but also provide enough coverage that i’m not worried about having one of those “OMG i just wore see-through leggings in public” moments. they also come up high enough that they cover my c-section scar, something that is really important to me since i had issues with infection after having logan and ended up wearing a giant ace bandage around my midsection for quite a while. don’t want that thing falling off in public …
not only is athleta full of adorable styles, perfect for both workout and athleisure-wear, but they are a b-corp, and i have to respect that. it does a couple of things for me – it justifies the price tag [athleta is comparable or slightly less expensive than lululemon], and it makes me feel good about my purchase. i’m supporting a company that supports women, and does good for the environment with goals that are increasingly aggressive. read more about their sustainability and overall do-good-ness here. oh! the gear is made to last. i live in minnesota, and it’s cold here a large portion of the time. and when it’s not cold, it’s super hot. so i need leggings that are going to accommodate the weather, my growing and then shrinking belly, my work to workout look, and overall fit my ‘cool mom’ aesthetic. athleta does all that.
i’ve linked some of my favorite leggings below. as i have taken my morning walks outside, and even more importantly, now that i’m constantly carrying a diaper bag, i’m loving the side pocket for quick access to my phone. game, changed. these leggings are worth every penny.

Omg I whole heartedly concur. But riddle me this (under the category of I already own too many cute styles to count but they keep innovating every season!) athleta is like Target – you swear going in you either “don’t need much” (target) or “don’t need any new ones because my drawer is already overstuffed” (athleta) and I STILL come home with new legging s 7/8 def the way to go.:-)
