transitional outfit + one of my favorite denim brands

i talked about it here, but we are in this beautiful, awkward, in-between stage here in the north where we don’t know if it’s going to be cold, hot, or somewhere in-between. the best way to describe it is “windows down but heat blasting on your feet” kinda weather. to that point, it’s hard to dress for your day when the weather goes from late fall to late summer all in a matter of hours. the best way i’ve figured out to stay comfy cool, but not cold, is to pick one set of appendages to cover fully [arms or legs], and opt for layers for the other. here i’ve paired jeans with a sleeveless tee and a long vest, adding visual and actual weight to my outfit. while the base of the outfit is dark, the light colored vest adds contrast. i run warm, so for me, this outfit was warm enough for the day. you could always add a tee or a long sleeve shirt instead of the sleeveless to make the outfit warmer come fall/winter.

also! these denim are one of my favorite brands. i won’t say “new favorite,” because i’ve been wearing them for a while now. sts blue is available online and in stores. i get mine from nordstrom or nordstrom rack. they run a little big, so you can size down [who doesn’t love that?!], but don’t stretch out during the day. the inseam is also great for those of us that don’t have giselle-esque legs .. aka, i don’t have to roll them a million times. the waist comes in many different rises, there are many washes and styles, and at the price point they are you can try all the new denim trends as well as wear your staple faves. i’ve rounded up some of my favorites, by style/type, below. happy almost weekend!
