clean up: your skincare – my beautycounter review

a few weeks ago, i did an interview with the gorgeous jordann on her experience as a total #momboss and beautycounter expert. through connecting with jordann i was able to test out the beautycounter overnight resurfacing peel. why beautycounter? beautycounter focuses on safer skincare that hits the highest standards in the world for beauty and skin products. beautycounter honors the never list, a list of over a thousand questionable ingredients you will never find in their products. i also heard this podcast interview with gregg renfrew, the creater of beautycounter, and was impressed with her hustle and drive.

on to the resurfacing peel – now, mind you, i was gifted this product way back in the beginning of the summer, so i’ve had ample time to try it and formulate my own opinions on it. before i dive in to my experience on it, i wanted to give you a quick overview on what the overnight peel is and does. according to the beautycounter website, the overnight resurfacing peel is

“formulated with 15 botanically-derived acids, this leave-on AHA/BHA peel improves skin texture and minimizes the appearance of pores, fine lines, and dark spots without irritation or over-drying. glycolic, lactic, and malic acids clear away dull surface skin cells, while hyaluronic acid and essential fatty acids soothe and nourish to reveal a brighter, more youthful-looking complexion.”

what’s that mean? it means that i was able to safely improve the way my skin looks on a day-to-day basis, without having to do any sort of crazy dermatological treatments. personally, i have dark spots a melasma from years of tanning combined with weird skin from pregnancy, so this product helped significantly. better yet, it improved the texture of my skin. i used the peel twice a week to begin with, working up to three-four times a week, depending on how my skin was feeling that week. never did it feel like it was too harsh or damaging my skin, and the smell [so important when it comes to skin products for me!!!] was fresh and light, without being overpowering. if you want to purchase the peel, or if you are curious about beautycounter in general, reach out to jordann! she is so sweet and so helpful, and you can tell she truly loves skin-safe products for her family. if nothing else, follow her insta for some serious beautiful mama inspo.
