doing the adult thing :: buying items at the end of the season

so i stepped up and did the adult thing last year. i bought a really nice winter jacket at the end of the season when it was way on sale, but i wasn’t able to get any wears out of it that season. at the time, it really wasn’t a fun purchase, but i told myself ‘future me will thank today me.’ seems like much to do about nothing, but i’m starting to try and do things my future self with thank me for. a couple of examples? skipping the ice cream and just going to bed. actually getting up to work out. cleaning the counters before i go to sleep. and buying winter items on sale as it gets warm, before they show up full price again next year. today i rounded up some of the best winter items that are marked down that your future self will thank you for, especially if you live somewhere it’s below freezing the majority of the winter [ahem, Minnesota].

sweaters + jackets

boots

outerwear

i have quite a few winter coats already, but i’ll be snagging a pair of boots or two before the season is over. i’m on the hunt for a pair of sorel kinetic [the grey + chestnut colored pair] in a size 8 but i can never quite snag them in my size and on sale. they’re on my list! so what’s the true purpose of this post? i can tell you it’s extremely gratifying to pull that never-before-worn winter item out of your closet, and thank your former self for having the foresight to purchase them. i hope you find this as helpful as i found putting it together! thanks, as always, for reading 🙂 have a great start to the week!
