tarzhay thursday // beauty + deal day items

it’s thursday and you know what that means … the best things i’ve found at target this week AKA tarzhay thursday. i wasn’t under a rock and nabbed a couple of items on deal day, so let’s chat about those first since they are still on sale [woo!]

we have a yellow lab, dark floors, and carpet. you know what that means? HAIR. HAIR EVERYWHERE. SO MUCH HAIR. and i’m the one who is hell bent on having a dog in the house, so it’s totally on me to 1. not get outwardly annoyed by the HAIR [!!] and 2. to keep it somewhat under control. i’ve had this shark vacuum for over two years, and it’s GREAT. like, the cost per use is probably super low because i use it multiple times per week. but i’m at the point with two kids where i need to step it up and want to have a nice, made-for-animal-hair carpet vacuum and something to clean the yogurt and god-knows-what off of our dark wood tile floors. after doing extensive research, i decided on my two weapons of choice and pulled the trigger on both of them [aggressive way to put it, but that’s how much i love clean floors. ha!].

for the carpet: i picked up this shark vacuum after reading countless reviews, and i am SO.EXCITED.TO.TRY.IT. seriously. that’s probably the most adult thing ever, besides bringing a dish to a party, but i’m ok with it. i’ll report back once i use it for a significant amount of time, but let’s just appreciate the fact that it’s still 30% off! well done, target.

for the wood tile: i’ve been using the existing vacuum to clean up crumbs, but it doesn’t do anything to clean up all of the spills/drips on the floor [not that i expect it to]. i need something i can whip out in a moment and clean the floors before people come over or i come close to losing my mind. both happen on a semi-regular basis. enter this steam mop, by shark as well. needless to say, i need to carve out a few hours on a regular basis to clean and will report back once i have used it more than once. initial reaction? love it. more to come.

ok, i realize that not all of you found those items as exciting as i did [although if you did, lmk. i need more cleaning-obsessed peeps in my life ha!] so here are the other goodies i’ve picked up this week.

this cleansing balm: balm! where have you been all my life? i typically shower at night and wash my face in the shower, but i have to scrub pretty good to get my waterproof mascara off. not only is this balm so soft and makes my skin feel awesome, it helps prep for a legit face-washing since it takes the makeup off and then my cleanser can do the work. i wanted to try a couple of products from the new versed line, since it’s creator is one of the two geniuses behind the clique media. everything those gals do is gold.

this face wash: so when i was in fourth or fifth grade, i used to have a couple of catalogs my mom let me keep that i would PORE over because they were [at least i thought] so beautiful. one was the american girl doll catalog, one was a land’s end catalog [there was an orange sweater i really wanted], and one was a bliss catalog. fast forward 18 years, and here is target carrying the bliss line. i was SO excited to see that. i have been using this cleanser for a while and just got the rose gold one.

i mentioned it in this blog post, but i just restocked this lotion, too. i’ve been using it for over a year and it works well with my tanning spray [also from target].

just got this skirt too after looking at it for many, may weeks. i will probably pull the neon green drawstring out so it’s a little more professional, but i’m super excited to dress it up for work or down with some sneakers on the weekend.

did you get anything on deal day? let me know! i’m always curious to see what people are buying!
