i know i’ve referenced it a number of times in the past week or so, but i do want to share that the nordstrom sale is one of the BEST sales around. why? because it’s all NEW items that haven’t hit the digital shelves yet, marked down BEFORE they are available to buy at full price. it’s like a reverse sale, really. i don’t do a ton of coverage [like every day for weeks] because 1. there are a ton of bloggers that do it better and 2. the affiliate commission made from purchasing through bloggers is not why i’m here. [do i have affiliate links? yep! mostly because i want to see what you guys are liking. trust me, it doesn’t pay the bills [or my weekly target run ;)], nor do i want it to].
ALL OF THIS TO SAY … i bring you today, all of the pieces i would buy or have bought from the sale. yep, the things you want. not need, because you need food, water, and shelter, and those aren’t available on the sale [or nordstrom’s website]. but i try to curate what i share and have literally linked what is in my shopping cart or what i bought in store. these are the statement pieces i believe you will be wearing all fall. ok, i’ll stop jabbering and get to it.
shoes + boots
so you may have noticed that snakeskin is the “it” print right now and for fall [but leopard never goes out of style, just to confirm], so i felt like it was v. appropriate to invest in a pair. i don’t see snakeskin going out of style anytime soon and plan on wearing them with a lot of print-pairing outfits. i have a pair of classic hunters already, but there are some really great ones on sale right now if you don’t and are in the market for them. bootie-wise, i got these ones and just ordered these, but have linked some of my other favorites below:
blazers + jackets
there is nothing a good blazer can’t fix. big meeting? blazer. meeting your sig. other’s parents? blazer. car breaks down? blazer. jk about the last one, but i find when i’m in a pinch and can’t figure out what to wear, i throw a blazer on and boom, i look 10% more put together and feel 1000% more put together. [case in point in the pic above – wasn’t sure what to wear … blazer – boom done.] i got a beautiful orchid-colored j.crew blazer in last year’s sale that i still wear when i need to feel 100, and i picked up another j.crew beauty [and nordstrom exclusive] in yellow this year. this one also made it’s way into my closet, which i cannot WAIT to wear the minute the temp drops below 50. i got a petite, because that’s all they had in-store, and i think i’ll actually keep it. it runs a tad big and i’m afraid the regular size would be too long on me and overpower my frame. more blazer and jacket picks below:
all the other things
every year there are a couple of pieces that fall into the “i have been waiting to pull the trigger on that until it’s on sale” category, and this year is no exception. i’ve been wanting a clare v bag for-ev-er and finally got my paws on one that will be perfect for work AND toting around kid stuff on the weekends. it’s sold out right now, but i’ll link if it comes back. i also picked up this gorgeous, warm, and versatile piece that i am V E R Y excited about. dare i say, bring on fall? now is also a great time to pick up belts. nobody ever thinks about belts, but the really make an outfit. [i’m also feeling very grateful to be able to wear belts again … one of the things i missed the most about being pregnant ;)]
