IT IS FALL! at least in minnesota. we had a weird, humid 80 degree day on monday and it flipped a switch overnight. there’s a light drizzle and the trees are turning colors; bring it on. if you want to hear more about how my basic self is embracing fall, check out tuesday’s post.
in last week’s tarzhay thursday, i was sharing some of the best workwear that i’ve found from target lately. today i’m sharing a few of the cozier, wear-around-on-the-weekends items. i say this all the time, but target is killing it in the style game. every brand has something that works for my life right now, from cute trucker coats in the wild fable section to amazing matching sets in prologue. you know my love for who what wear, and the new levis line and universal thread are giving me madewell vibes. winning, across the board.
here’s what i’m loving this week:
this shacket [shirt jacket, see what i did there?] is adorable. it’s lightweight enough to wear indoors, but roomy enough to wear layered and act like a jacket. the pops of pink add a feminine touch to what would be a pretty masculine clothing item. who what wear has a pretty great chevron one, too.
how would i style it?: with navy leggings + some faux hiking boots or sorels.
i bought this sweatshirt for a couple of reasons. first, it’s long enough to wear with leggings and not feel fully exposed. second, its incredibly soft. third, it’s crew-neck. hoodies turn the back of my hair into a big dreadlock, so i’m a big fan of hoodies.
how would i style it?: with navy leggings + some sweet sneaks + vest
ok, this is one trend i’m totally get on board with. sets! it’s basically the cool version of the juicy couture sweatsuit circa 2001, but, like, way cooler (and if done right, appropriate for work). i’m actually working on entire post on the trend, but this set was too comfy/cute not to share. it’s elevated sweats, you guys.
how would i style it?: exactly as pictured! pair with some animal print shoes and you are good go go.
love a good leopard cardigan! can’t go wrong. this one is a little boxier and perfect for layering without being too claustrophobic. i also bought the who what wear one and plan to wear it over a black column dress.
how would i style it?: striped long sleeve tee + black denim + booties
