currently coveting

i recently overheard a conversation in the elevator that went something like this “…but i hate actually SHOPPING for anything. like, if it shows up in my closet, i’ll wear it, but i hate doing the looking.” now, i know that viewpoint exists, but it’s not something i relate to, since i love the “thrill of the hunt” — poking around, whether online or in-store, to see what’s new, fresh, and cool. it gets my mind churning on what i could pair it with and really feeds my creativity. for that exact reason, i love compiling everything i’m loving at the moment and sharing; sort of like a mini-trend report. here’s what i’m currently coveting, complete with links and few ideas on how to style the pieces:

ard styles, athleta joggers, earrings, jewelry, sweaters

pieces + styling tips

this leopard sweater dress would be adorable with either sneakers (high-top) or tights + moto booties.

love this site for phone cases … and they are totally customizable!

athleta always kills it for fun pants and joggers. this new style would be perfect paired with a blazer and pointy-toe heels or with some sneakers and a long sleeve tee with a front tuck.

i posted about this jacket before, and finally picked it up last week. i love that the style is a little more casual than a pea coat or long duster, but the print makes it work acceptable. i think i’m most excited to wear it with some leggings and really fun sneakers on the weekend, though. it comes in both leopard and floral! gotta love options.

love a good buffalo plaid sweater. the black and white option makes it versatile. this would be perfect paired with a pencil skirt and some motorcycle boots. if you were running around, a leather jacket over the top would add some additional edge.

since i’ve been wearing my hair up more, i’m v into earrings this fall. these marble and gold ones are a great mix of trends, without being SO expensive.

sweaters are a must, especially in the north half of the country, and i (like many of you, i’m sure) have so many. if i’m going to buy any new sweaters, there has to be something different about it. this sweater in the neon bright citrus is a great way to jazz up what would be a muted fall outfit. i’d pair with some plaid or houndstooth pants.

speaking of sweaters, and living in the north, how fun is this “pop” sweater? it raises the age-old cultural debate: is it pop, soda, or coke? (it’s pop, btw.) i’d wear front tucked with a pleated or satin skirt and some fun ankle booties.

i have an obsession with high-tops this year, and this pair is a fun take on leopard/animal print. pair with some black skinny denim and a plaid shirt for a great way to print-mix.

you know by this point that i’m a sucker for anything leopard, but leopard done right. i’d pair this sweater blazer with a black column dress and some fun flats.

i don’t need to drive home the fact that it’s cold here, and any kind of layer is welcome. i was deep in the search pages of target.com and found this cute piece. it’s technically activewear, but i’d pair it with a pencil skirt and a chambray shirt, ala j.crew last year.

have a great start to the week!
