hi friends! back today with my second installment of #influenced. this is the series where i share what i’m buying, doing, listening to, watching, or reading and who influenced me to do so. i think that there’s typically such a negative connotation with the word “influenced,” but i trust the people in my life when it comes to what i decide to spend my time, energy, and money on, so i have come to look at it like a good thing.
eating
#influenced by: a coworker
this yogurt. one of my coworkers has it all the time, and i grabbed some last time i was at target. SO GOOD. for me, yogurt can’t be full of a ton of crap and has to have great texture. this one does just that.
#influenced by: the fall szn
i mentioned in my post last week, but i’m trying to cook with more fall ingredients. this week i made delicata squash and we had butternut squash crust pizza last week as well. the verdict? both were good! we did rao’s tomato sauce, mozzarella + parmesan, canadian bacon and pepperoni, and it was pretty legit. i roasted the squash with some coconut oil and sea salt, and that was really good as well.
listening
#influenced by: a fresh new wave of podcasts
i do this thing where i hear someone i love on a podcast, and i go deep on them. like, every podcast they’ve ever been interviewed on deep. some of those people? melanie whelan of soul cycle, the skimm founders danielle and carly, and most recently, rebecca minkhoff. turns out she has her own podcast! she’s a great interviewer if you like someone real who tosses in a few swears here and there. the more i listen, the more i am impressed with the work she’s doing to help support more female founders. some of my favorite interviews? this one with the editor of instyle and this one with my all-time favorite girl crush, hillary kerr.
wearing
#influenced by: one of my v stylish coworkers
it was a total mean girls moment when i saw a girl i work with wearing this blazer. “so-and-so was wearing the a new day blazer, so i got the a new day blazer.” this was one of those [rare] pieces i was wrong about on the hanger, too. normally one of my skills is being able to tell if something that doesn’t look great on the hanger looks good on a body, and i didn’t think this blazer would be cute on. i was wrong.
ok, what else am i missing out on? send me things i need to be doing, eating, reading, watching, wearing, and listening to! have a great weekend 🙂
