february intentions

february intentions

i’m so excited it’s february. seriously. don’t get me wrong, i don’t hate january as much as some others do, but it’s really not my favorite (other than logan’s birthday). february to me just seems so much more fun since there’s valentine’s day in there, we are usually planning some sort of vacation, and although there’s snow, there are a few glimpses of spring and warmth here and there. i like february.

that’s why today i’m excited to talk about my february intentions – all the things I want to work towards this month. i have loved doing these posts, because it gives me an underlying tone to my month. it’s always in the back of my mind, and keeps me conscious of bettering myself. so here we go – february intentions:

get some wall art up

february intentions

i was in a very interesting group text conversations with some of my bff’s a few weeks ago, and we were talking about the inability to commit to wall art. for me, it’s something i have SUCH a hard time spending money on because i like everything just fine, but there’s something about it being impersonal that i’m not totally sold on. like, what if i don’t love it? i’d love it if it were sentimental, but if someone else might have it in their house, i can’t commit. i’m usually very decisive, but not when it comes to wall art. my friend made a comment that blew my mind: “you can always change it.” wait, WHAT?! i can take it down if i don’t like it? so simple, yet so revolutionary. so i’m going to try and commit to some wall art this month – some handmade, some store bought (that’s been sitting in my garage for over a year). it’s better than nothing, right? frames, canvases, sculptures, shelves — it’s all fair game!

eat what’s in my pantry

i have this weird thing with impulse buying pantry foods. i want to eat up what i already have in my pantry, plain and simple. i’m hoping it makes my grocery bill seem a little bit lighter, too, since i’m going to be focusing on fresh and frozen foods. speaking of …

eat more frozen

i’ve always thought that fresh fruits and veggies were the healthiest for you, with the highest nutrient content. i heard three times in three different podcasts last week about how veggies, frozen at the peak of nutrition, are as good if not better for you. plus, they’re cheaper! how about that. i’m going to try to use more frozen vegetables in my cooking as one of my february intentions.

#goldenthirtystyle

it’s cliche, but i want to wear more purple/red/pink/gold/silver this month. i don’t really celebrate valentine’s day (i don’t need joey to waste money on flowers or chocolate when i can pick up my own reeses and tulips from target), but i love a good theme. it’s dreary, so a little color will help brighten this month up! follow along (and hashtag it too!) with #goldenthirtystyle.

check out yesterday’s post on how to wear color

also, i’m going to be announcing something super new, and super exciting SOON! drop your email below if you want to be the first in the know πŸ™‚

SO EXCITED! MORE ON THAT SOON!

Love this! I need to make a Feb intentions list of my own… 😐 but totally feel you on the wall art!! I used to put it off for so long & now whenever I have a space to decorate I just go for it, with the intention to change things up and test out different pieces & arrangements. I also try to start with what I have and/or inexpensive placeholders until I have a clearer vision. πŸ™‚ Haha, cheers & can’t wait to see what you come up with! – Anna @theblondeparty
