now, more than ever, it is important to help small businesses. america was built on the back of the small business, and it’s our duty to support them in good times and in times of need. i keep hearing of ways to help, so i’ve rounded up some of the best tips i’ve found on how to support small businesses here:
restaurants
order for takeout or delivery: right now it’s not safe to dine indoors, but if possible, order takeout. i’ve shared that i live in a really small community, but joey and i have a running list of places we want to make sure we keep frequenting. to be totally honest, we dine ‘out’ more now than we ever have in an effort to keep our dollars in our community.
share: snap a pic and tag them on social media. it’s free, and gets the word out about a biz that could probably use some marketing right now.
retail
buy gift cards: i don’t know why i don’t do this more often in general, since it would be really nice come christmastime to have some gift cards to use on gifts for my friends and fam!
order online: but be patient with delivery windows! we are all in the same, very unsure, boat when it comes to mail and deliveries.
share: same as above; snap a pic and tag them on social media. it’s free, and gets the word out about a biz that could probably use some marketing right now.
salons and other services
pre-pay: i am perpetually late on making my hair appointments, and this is the greatest reminder to make sure i stay on top of it. my roots (and greys) are coming in fast and furious since i had intended to get my hair colored last week. anyways, i’m trying to find a way to pre-book my service for when all of this is over so my stylist can get paid. she’s a gem, and i need her to be around when this is all over <3
share: snap a pic and tag them on social media. it’s free, and gets the word out about a biz that could probably use some marketing right now.
other
we all know people who run their own biz’ from home – beautycounter, beachbody, etc. if you are in the market for any of that, or already purchase from someone, now is a great time to support them!
small businesses are SO important to our economy and the overall fabric of america. think about that cute little coffee shop, the fun boutique you love to stop into, and your local nail salon that makes your day. they are all suffering right now. we can all use the above tips to help support small business in this time of need. the good news? these tips work even when we aren’t in a crisis! this might make us all think a little differently on how we operate now, and going forward.
