friday five :: five things that are making me happy and hopeful

happy friday! week … four? five? of working from home? week who knows what of social-weirdness. anyways, at the risk of being too positive, i want to share five things making me hopeful right now. i say that, because i want to be sensitive of not portraying “toxic positivity” – i’ve seen that going around – but still sharing things that are making me happy and hopeful. my default mode is gratitude, and that’s something i’ve had to learn and put into practice for myself. does that mean i don’t get down? no way. i had a month or so long funk i was in over the holidays that i just couldn’t shake. i also have my days where i get really, really down. and hey, the postpartum hormone rollercoaster is the worst. but i’ve gone through some things in my life that make it absolutely essential that i default to gratitude, even for the littlest things. all that to say: i’m not trying to be an in-your-face positive a**hole, i want to share what’s on my mind and in my heart, and today those are these five things:

the weather

ha! how minnesotan of me. but really, it’s starting to warm up, get sunny, and i could just jump for joy at the thought that it’ll be 60’s more than one day in a row next week. i’ve been walking outside (you know, to literally get out of my house) and i can tell you it makes such a difference if i’m not totally frozen.

having a dedicated [cl]office

prior to this whole wfh experience, i rarely used my cloffice for the office part. it was really my clothing room with a desk that i had styled in there. now that joey’s teaching from home from the upstairs of our house, i’m thankful that i have a dedicated space to myself downstairs. spending all this time in here has made me want to change things up a bit … i’ve been pinning a ton and am starting to sketch how i want to lay things out. this is going to be one of my pet projects for the foreseeable future.
