hope everyone had a good weekend! i had a great one … i spent some quality time with some of my best galpals [and their babies!!!] and it never ceases to amaze me how truly, truly lucky i am to have such GOOD people in my life. like these people are just GOOD. i’m not just blessed, i’m hashtag blessed. good friends are one of the best gifts in the world. also, as a parent, who you choose to be involved in your child’s life is a big deal, so i am incredibly thankful i have the opportunity to know my friends’ kids. logan and i spent some time shopping with my mom [“nana”] on sunday, and we had a family dance party when joey got home from hunting. i had a great weekend to stay the least.

today is hopefully the last hot day in minnesota for a while [although i realize i just jinxed it by saying that]. bring on fall! sweaters, boots, apple orchards, and football — minnesota has got the BEST fall. that being said, i wanted to share one quick outfit hack that helps give you options, especially when it comes to your summer wardrobes. i am always drawn to cute athleisure-wear, but i struggle with the whole “i don’t work out in it, so where would i actually wear it?” the top in this outfit is technically an active wear top, but since i paired it with a fun skirt, you would never know. that’s my pro tip: pair activewear with something a few notches fancier [nice pants, a dressier skirt, a classy tunic] and you can instantly turn an athleisure piece into something totally versatile.

i also paired this top with these jeans from express when joey and i went to a boxing match not too long ago, and it was a perfect date-night, kind-of-edgy-but-not-too-bizarre top. i paired it with my favorite block heeled sandals you’ve seen me wear all summer, and voila: my top is getting a ton of use, is incredibly versatile, and gives my outfits a little something unexpected. i’ve linked some of my favorite active-to-anywhere tops below, including the one i have styled here [plus it’s on sale!]. if you’re stuck on what to wear it with, pair it with dark high-waisted denim, a pleated midi or knee-length skirt, or these pants. you definitely can’t go wrong!

what’s on the docket this week? i have some of the items i’ve picked up to refresh my closet for fall, some new podcasts + audiobooks i’ve been bingeing, and my review of target’s new line, prologue! [spoiler alert: i love it!]

have a great week!
