15 week bumpdate: feeling like a stuffed turkey

happy thanksgiving week! feeling super thankful + super pregnant this week.

how far along?: 15 weeks [going to blame it on the pregnancy brain, but i made my 16 week appt. this week *shrugs shoulders*]

physically, how are you feeling?:Β unisom + b6Β on the reg. i thought i was doing better, and then i stayed up past 8pm last weekend and thought i was going throw up when we were at the school play. still no bueno, but i’m getting through the days a lot better! no energy anymore, and i’m starting to wonder if that’s just how motherhood is. i see a lot of you parents drinking diet mountain dew, and i’m wondering if it’s not for the taste …. i’m also starting to get more sore joints. like knees, hips, you name it. i am feeling positively geriatric at this point.

baby bump?: baby bloat, still. thanksgiving is not going to help that at all.

gender?: still a boy!

cravings/aversions?: nada. food is good, man. juuuust in time for turkey day.

emotions?: i think i’m good. feeling like, super extra thankful, and i’m not sure if that’s the hormones, the time of year, or the fact that i’m older and less selfish. i was chilling with logan the day and almost started crying at how much i love her, and i think that was hormones, because while i totally feel that way, i usually don’t tear up. just heart-bursting happiness, ya know?

maternity clothes?: must.resist.stretchy waistbands. who am i kidding? bring on all the stretch! i’ve been wearing mid-rise mom-jeans on the reg, mostly because they fit and because it’s a little harder to see the bump if you disguise with a belt and a front-tuck. it just looks like you had a large lunch. which i also did.

workouts?: still walking + strength. i can definitely tell that it’s a little harder on my joints, and it takes me a little bit longer to get going, but i’m glad that i’ve been able to continue to do it this far. i really, honestly think that is why i had such a comfortable pregnancy with logan, and want to continue that with this one.

weight gain?: 10+. i have my “weigh in” aka my ob appointment the day after thanksgiving, so we will see how that goes. WHY DO I DO THAT TO MYSELF?! [because it’s convenient and i took the day off of work, that’s why. but still …] let’s just say that i’m looking forward to when i actually look pregnant and not like i just ate a burrito and a half.

have a very happy thanksgiving!

Perhaps it was because I was 35 and I didn’t think I could get pregnant, but larger my belly got, the more excited I was to show off my little boy to be. (And things haven’t changed, I still crow about him constantly and he’s gonna be 17 yrs old) TIP: Bib Overalls. I had 2 pair and wore them like crazy. So comfortable, no extra pressure in the belly. Happy Thanksgiving to the Puncochars!
