mother’s day gift ideas :: jewelry

since mother’s day is just around the corner, i wanted to share some gift ideas, specifically jewelry. jewelry can be INCREDIBLY intimidating, right? whether you’re a guy or girl, picking out something so small is such a tough decision. well today, i’m here to help.

now, i’ll be the first to admit that traditionally, i’m not at all a jewelry type of gal when it comes to gifts. while i have quite a bit [“tons” if you ask my husband] and love to collect fun, trendy pieces, there are certain pieces that are more sentimental than others, and those are the pieces i reach for every day. those are also the pieces that make the best gifts! something that shows thought went into it, ya know? guys: if you want a great mother’s day gift for your lady, get her something unique in the form of elevated, everyday jewelry. something she can wear while running to a game AND while killing it in the yoga studio, the board room, or while in line at starbucks [on her weekly #targetrun]. i was recently gifted the most gorgeous rose gold engraved bar necklace from a local jeweler i’ve been working with – loch jewelers – and in the few days i’ve worn it, i’ve received SO many compliments/questions/conversation starters on it! i smile when i glimpse it in the mirror [on one of my many, many bathroom runs these days #pregnantlife], and i’ve had multiple conversations with other moms about the meanings of the names on it. when i get the chance to consciously think about my child[ren], i just stop and smile, and it makes my heart so happy. i could really go on and on!

like i mentioned in last friday’s post, loch jewelers is a local to minnesota full-service jeweler and goldsmith, but their robust [i always feel so fancy using that word – ha!] website means that you can order from them wherever you may be — all about convenience and choices, am i right? they have a HUGE selection of customizable jewelry, which i’m all about. personally, i love a good necklace that is simple, yet can be stacked, which is why i chose to customize the bar necklace. i also love that you can customize rings with them with or without gemstones. there’s just something so classic and ‘goes with everything’ about a simple, customized ring.

the best part about working with the team over at loch jewelers? they were so full of ideas! jewelry can be very intimidating, and the entire process was warm, inviting, and i never felt pressured to go one way or another. i worked with donna and andrea both via email and in person, and they were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and made me feel like fam through the entire process. if you’re looking for some good, kind-hearted people to work with, this is your team. because all of the jewelry was so beautiful, and i had quite a few ideas i was going back and forth between, it took me some time to decide on what i wanted to design, and the girls were SO patient with me, making sure that i was sure of my decision every step of the way. again, just good people to work with — i can’t say it enough!

it doesn’t go without saying that in today’s day and age, working with a company that you know does good in the world makes you feel confident in your purchases, right? well loch jewelers does just that — not only have they been family owned and operated since 1949, they have a long-standing tradition of working with other family-owned diamond and gemstone businesses across the world – from belgium to south africa and back to central minnesota again, year after year. and when i say “working with,” i mean they go in person to visit and hand select. that’s a true partnership, and that is the kind of business i want to work with, which is why i was thrilled to partner with loch jewelers.

namedrop! both kiddos names near and dear to my heart – literally.

sidenote: my necklace turned out so beautifully, i legit asked my ob in my 37 week appointment if i was allowed to wear it during my scheduled c-section. i’m not even concerned about my contact lenses at this point, but i want to wear my necklace with my children’s names engraved. tbd on if i’ll be allowed to, but you can bet it’ll be packed with my wedding ring in my hospital bag #priorities.

now, on to the BEST part: loch jewelers is giving away a $100 gift card to one lucky winner! it’s super simple: all you have to do is enter your email below. winner will be selected on wednesday!
