tarzhay thursday :: hospital bag edition

all the best things in this bag came from target

happy thursday! since i am just fresh off the birth of my son [cue all the heart eye emojis], i rounded up the BEST items i had packed in our hospital bags that we had used.

pj’s – the button up front pj’s from target’s new loungewear lines were AH-MAZING. i had seen them on quite a few packing lists, but at a much higher price point at other retailers. i didn’t want to spend $50+ on a pair of pajamas that could get ruined, and would definitely get covered in breast milk. i’ll be wearing these through the rest of my maternity leave FOR SURE. i also love the lounge pants that they have and will be living in those as well. i can’t say it enough – investing in some nice, comfy pieces have gone a long way in making me feel so much better this time around. and by invest, i mean doing the research to purchase comfy ones. they don’t have to break the bank!

robes – i got a robe last time around that i loved and picked up a new one this time. the robes i got are non-maternity, but i picked styles that were a little longer so that it still covered everything but they could check me in the hospital and i had easy access to my incision when i was home.

toiletries – there were three standout pieces that i’m SO glad i got. the first was this shower sheet. the first day post-surgery you are sweaty from hormones and can’t get up to clean up for the first 8ish hours after surgery, so it was nice to have those nearby to freshen up with. the same idea went for the dry shampoo … my hair got super ratty from laying against the pillows for such a long time, the dry shampoo helped to keep it fresh. the last thing i’m glad i packed was the kristin ess travel shampoo. so many of the blog posts and lists i read said that having shampoo and conditioner that’s the same as what you use at home is nice just as a reminder of home and some normalcy, and they were right. having these was SO nice.

shoes/sandals – i kind of agonized over what shoes to wear knowing that my feet were going to swell pretty bad and still be swollen once we left the hospital. the day before we went in to have cole i finally found a pair of shade and shore sandals that were wide enough my feet would fit but cute enough i would also wear them again. [my backup was to head to nordstrom and pick up these sandals instead, but i got the target ones for a fraction of the price #winning]

i’m also SUPER excited for the vineyard vines x target collection to launch this weekend! so many cute pieces i’m going to be trying to snag [online of course — i don’t think i’m up to heading into a target to pick anything up quiiite yet ;)]

happy thursday!
