we are taking things slow and easy this fourth of july, for obvious reasons. yes, because we have kids. also, there’s a global pandemic. but with friday off and the long weekend ahead, you can bet i’m in comfy pieces all weekend long. here’s what i’m wearing for the fourth of july, all from target.
i LOVE a good theme. like, costume parties are my absolute favorite and there’s nothing i love more than an ugly sweater to casually don from november to december 25th. the fourth of july is another one of those holidays where i am now choosing to “wear the holiday” with a little more subtlety than i have in the past (american flag print swimsuit, anyone?) these picks reflect that. shorts + tank, dress + vest — they’re all pieces i can (and will) wear again.

now, i wouldn’t say wild fable is my favorite brand at target by any means. you guys know i love me some who what wear. but wild fable has some of the best denim and shorts options out there right now, and the price is SO reasonable. i sized up two sizes, but the frayed denim shorts are the BEST short shorts that i’ve found. they’re high waisted, longer in the back, and somehow provide coverage yet don’t look matronly. pair with a front-tucked tank or crewneck sweatshirt and you are ready to go!
