for real, guys. i’m here to tell you, if you are looking for your comfy, cute, and easy to catch-your-kid-before-they-run-in-traffic outfit, look no further. i will be honest, i avoided joggers for the longest time, because to me, they were just a fancier version of cinched sweatpants. the kind wrestlers wear, not the cool kind you used to tuck into your rolled down uggs while trekking across the frozen tundra in minnesota to your 8am [ok, 10:15am] morning class. no? just me?
here are a couple of reasons why joggers are a life-changing invention, right up there with sliced bread and cordless vacuums:
everyone looks good in them: no matter your body type, joggers are loose enough to fit without being baggy. depending on the fabric, you can look chic and casual while still being comfortable. i personally love the joylab ones i have. they hit at the perfect spot on the ankle, and aren’t too long.
they usually come with pockets: i’ve always been a fan of pockets, but after having a kid and now wearing a diaper backpack that rivals the mass of a ninja turtle’s shell, i am down for anywhere convenient i can cram my phone and keys. it’s not a good look when you pull your card out of your nursing bra to pay for your gas.
they are accessible: i mean this in two ways. first, you can find them at nearly any price point. like i said, i love the ones from target, but alo, zella, lululemon, and athleta all have REALLY good options too. second, they are easy to get on and off. now, i know what you’re thinking, and THAT’S NOT WHAT I MEAN. as someone who had a c-section and really didn’t enjoy peeling leggings off, or just someone who doesn’t enjoy peeling leggings off in general [does anyone?], joggers are a great athleisure alternative.
they go workout to work-wear: joggers are versatile. i can wear a pair to work, provided the logo isn’t plastered somewhere super visible, but also wear them running around on the weekends. double duty pants? win win.
when i first started this blog, my intention was to bring you 1. valuable content and 2. a little comedic relief, or at least relatability, when possible. i hope you find this rundown on joggers [no pun intended, but patting myself on the back for that one!] valuable in that you are now ready to add them to your closet. for real, you will not regret it!
