tarzhay thursday // the best target hair care products

dress is who what wear [target]

i’ve been getting more and more questions about the products i use on my hair, so i figured i’d stick them all in a post for ya! when it comes to hair care, i am a high maintenance-looking low maintenance girl. my hair is big, and full of secrets [purely because of years of coloring it means it’s damaged enough to hold some volume], so it looks like i spend a ton of time and effort on it [at least, so i’ve been told]. here’s my secret: i don’t. i avoid blow-drying at all costs, mostly because it makes me sweaty, and i hate spending more than 15 minutes on it. that’s for, like, a wedding or something. i can usually get it curled in under 10 on a weekday, and really pride myself on my every-other-day routine i’ve committed to ever since having logan. see? low maintenance inputs, high maintenance results. here’s the nitty gritty:

  • i wash it, at night, every other day. in the interim, i use this dry shampoo, ESPECIALLY when my roots need to be done, since they seem to be oilier than my color-treated pieces [shocking]. i will style it the morning after the wash, and that style will hold for another day or so.
  • i alternate between the love, beauty & planet shampoo  + conditioner [i think i called it “peace love hair” or something in some DMs – i can never remember!! the pink, floral one] and the kristin ess shampoo and conditioners. 3-5 times a week i will use her purple shampoo and conditioner to keep it light and bright. and not orange.
  • i’ve started to use rose oil on the ends, because they are pretty dry [by ‘pretty dry’ i mean crispy]. that’s seeming to help! just don’t use it in conjunction with …
  • this amazing sea salt spray. it is AMAZING for giving you overnight beachy waves, but don’t layer any other products with it. learn from kelsey. don’t be like kelsey. it literally made my hair feel like barbie hair, but not the good kind. the kind after you try to go all ‘stylist’ on barbie.

there you have it! i abide by the whole ‘if you can’t get it at target, don’t make it a regular part of your routine’ rule [i think i made that rule up, but also applies to makeup]. happy wednesday!
