you guys are no stranger to the fact that i love kelly leveque’s #fab4smoothies and fab 4 lifestyle in general. i’ve been stalking her protein powder production for – everrr and was THRILLED when she released the first round to the public! i jumped right to amazon and purchased the vanilla protein. i like chocolate protein, but i think vanilla is more versatile so if i were going to spend the $$ on it (it’s not cheap in comparison to other protein powders), i wanted something to be flexible in the way of what i can do with it. here are my takeaways (spoiler alert: i just ordered another bag)
taste
the be well by kelly protein powder is by far and away the most natural tasting protein powder i’ve ever had, which i LOVE! i have gone through a bag of the vanilla already and am waiting on a restock. i would also want to try the chocolate, but am partial to vanilla protein, for reasons i’ll get into below.
ingredients + digestion
i’m not going to pretend to be a nutritionist, licensed dietitian, or any other expert in this field, but seems to me if i’m ingesting less ingredients, that’s probably better for me. kelly’s protein powder has 3-4 ingredients, depending on which flavor you go with, and they’re all pretty easy on digestion for me. i have realized that the older i get, the more my digestion is sensitive to various sweeteners, so i appreciate that this one is easy on my digestion.
kelly as a brand
one thing that’s really important to me as a millennial and overall conscious consumer is that i know who i’m buying from and what their mission is. i’ve listened to every podcast kelly’s ever hosted or been a guest on, read both of her books, and follow along with her sage, easy-to-apply healthy advice on a regular basis. i also appreciate that she didn’t launch the pea protein she was going to a few years ago because of new research that came out indicating it might not be as safe as she wanted. can i get an AMEN for the girl not selling out just to make a buck? needless to say, i’m a fan, and her product quality is as high as her standards.
current smoothie recipe
1 scoop be well by kelly vanilla protein
2 handfuls of spinach
