what’s on my mind

hi friends! happy monday. “i just wanted to pop on …” no but really, here today to share a few things that have been on my mind lately!

i’m slowly but surely getting back to posting more regularly. if you read my post last week, you saw that i had gotten really burnt out this fall with everything going on in the world, meaning that I didn’t have the drive to post. i have shared this before, but I have no desire to make blogging my career. I have the utmost respect for those that do blog full time, because it is a huge undertaking. you’re basically a content production house, a brand, a celeb all in one. this blog is my hobby; my creative outlet (along with shop golden thirty). at first I felt a sense of guilt that I wasn’t posting, because I had gone two years posting everyday, but that quickly wore off. i’m here to share/chat/post when it feels natural, and don’t want to force it.

I’m obsessed with bagged salads for my lunches these days. i’ll usually get somewhere between 4-7/week and have them for lunch and/or dinner. they’re super easy to throw together. don’t forget to toss with tongs, add your favorite protein, and boom! ALMOST as good as the amazing salad places downtown minneapolis. almost.

can we talk about the bachelorette? what does everyone think about this season? truth be told, claire wasn’t exactly who I would have picked to be the next bachelorette, especially since the boys they chose for her (yes boys) aren’t exactly who I would be jacked up to quarantine myself for. find me a couple of dads, guys who volunteer their time, or men with substance. not saying those guys don’t have it; they just clearly don’t edit the show to share that. maybe that’s the problem with the bachelor franchise, though? they keep trying to bring in new “types” of bachelor/bachelorettes, when maybe they need to adjust the editing and storylines they come up with.

ok, speaking of reality tv, I am here or dr. wendy on RHOP!!!! she’s great. she’s smart, funny, and takes no garbage. also, her outfits for the confessional are level 100. give me allll the one shoulder + barette combos. also, on the real housewives front, i’m kind of annoyed at the trainwreck that is the real housewives of orange county. i’m not even going to give kelly dodd space in this blog post; the stuff she shares is so beyond ignorant; it’s despicable. I was also a little surprised at braunwyn’s storyline regarding being sober; it takes so much courage and vulnerability to put that level of accountability on yourself that new into sobriety [yep, speaking from experience on that one]. I might not agree with everything she says or does, but i’m proud of her for putting that out there and making a change to better her own life.

have you checked out shop golden thirty yet? custom denim jackets, curated new pieces to compliment your wardrobe (thinking cool-girl pieces you won’t find anywhere else), and totally cheeky vintage ‘jazzed up’ sweatshirts + (soon) tees! it’s been a little labor of love that logan’s helped me with, and it’s SO MUCH FUN to see these pieces come to life. I love clothing; clothing is art, and getting to design and see these small batch or one of a kind pieces come to life is the kind of creative outlet I didn’t know I needed. check it out!

thanks for coming to my TED talk 🙂
