hi friends! it’s been a while since i’ve been posting regularly, hasn’t it? i shared last week that i had taken a step back from the blog for a month to really assess what i want to do. i felt like with all of the pressure of working from home, having small children, and trying to continue to adjust to life in this environment, i was feel incredibly uninspired. and while i’m still not back to my fully fired-up, aries self, i’m becoming more and more clear on what i’m doing and where i want to go. all very cryptic, isn’t it? anyways, i’m here today to talk about what i’m wearing for fall, or what i wish i was wearing if i were in an office (or just leaving my house at any point) during the day. without further babbling ado…
here’s how to wear and style hoodies + blazers this fall:
how to style hoodies + blazers
you guys, i’m LOVING the blazer/hoodie combo. it’s functional (hello sweatshirts when the weather gets cold) and professional at the same time. here are some tips for wearing your blazer/hoodie combo:
- cut the arms off of your hoodie to minimize bulk. i saw this tip on @theblondeparty ‘s instagram, and was like “DUH. how have i not thought of this? brilliant.” so good. i struggle with having enough shoulder room in my blazers to begin with, so i’m all for whatever can minimize the bulk. also, check them out because they’re always sharing really cool tips + tricks, plus their insta is v aesthetically pleasing.
- keep your hoodies fitted. this one is going to make it SO much easier to layer. wearing your old high school hoodie is cute and all (you know i love nostalgia), but it might make it hard to put a blazer over it. just sayin’. there’s a time and a place for over-sized hoodies but under a blazer is not one of them.
- make your combos fun; add some color/texture/pattern. odds are you aren’t wearing this outfit to a job interview (and if you are, where are you applying? seems like a fun office!), so get a little creative with it. think plaid + stripes, camo + leopard (MY FAVORITE, YOU KNOW)
